Supplying the US: how our export side works
From first enquiry to palletised dispatch — the five-step process behind our transatlantic trade accounts, and how US customers pay us.
A growing share of our business now comes from distributors and independent retailers in the United States — mostly British food and household brands that communities overseas want on their shelves but can't buy locally by the case.
The five-step process
- Enquiry & quote — tell us your cases and destination; quotes come back in GBP or USD with Incoterms (usually FCA Birmingham).
- Verification — first export orders get a short verification call and business details check. It protects both sides.
- Proforma & payment — pay by debit or credit card, or by bank transfer in GBP or USD. Card is the fastest: cleared funds, goods released same day.
- Packing & documents — commercial invoice, HS codes, packing list and certificate of origin prepared with the pallets.
- Dispatch — palletised and shrink-wrapped via our freight partners, tracked to your warehouse door.
Why this matters to us
Export is the part of the business our parents' generation did by fax. We do it the same honest way — documented properly, priced clearly, and answered by a human being. If you're a US distributor looking for a dependable UK source, get in touch.
